Orion OW Model

As an energy efficient lighting product, the Orion OW model fixture (about the size of a layer cake) uses only 36 watts of energy to produce 200 watts of light. In comparison, 200 watts of energy is needed to light a 200 watt incandescent bulb. Using Orion’s OW fixture may result in an 80% savings on energy costs! The OW lamps also last up to 13 times longer than standard incandescent bulbs, therefore saving additional costs on future bulb replacement.

The OW model fixture produces full spectrum light for true-to-life colors without glare or shadows. It’s reflective back plate with clear diffuser provides maximum light output with 360 degrees of coverage. If installed 8 to 10 feet high over the middle of a 12 x 12 foot stall, it will virtually fill the entire stall with shadow free daylight quality light. This is sufficient lighting for breeding season manipulation as well as winter coat suppression. This accurate color rendition is also beneficial in the event of illness or injury, or if your horse is confined to his/her stall. Good lighting is essential for accurate assessment of your horse’s condition, as well as enabling proper treatment by you and your veterinarian.

The OW model’s cool-burning fluorescent bulb, with end-of-lamp life circuit protection and one year warranty, lasts approx. 10,000 hours and is less fragile than most incandescent bulbs. The OW’s commercial grade electronic ballast is cool-burning, instant on at temperatures as low as 20 degrees below 0, and is designed to withstand power surges. The ballast has a 2 year warranty and is easily replaced if necessary.

The OW model’s virtually indestructible polycarbonate housing is non-flammable and is designed for “wet” areas. The OW fixture is fully gasketed and enclosed, thereby sealing out moisture, dust, and bugs. The entire fixture may be power washed without fear of leakage or breakage. Because there are no rusting parts, the OW fixture has a life expectancy of about 30 years. Orion 4AG3-HL

The 4AG3-HL 4 foot 3 bulb fixture is the perfect light for stall areas with higher ceilings, as they may be mounted 12 to 24 feet high. The 4AG3-HL is the highest lumen output 4 foot, 3 bulb, enclosed fixture available!! Producing 800 watts of light and only consuming 84 watts of energy, the 4AG3-HL operates at a fraction of the cost of standard incandescent bulbs. High performance, T8 lamps, lasting 30,000 hours (40 times longer than incandescent lights) provide full spectrum lighting with daylight quality light without glare or shadows. This is sufficient lighting to prevent hair coating and to help bring mares into heat cycles.

The commercial grade, cold-start, electronic multi-tap ballast is self adjusting for 120 to 277 volts and is instant on at 0 degrees! For added fire protection, the ballast is enclosed in an inner steel case. The fiberglass housing with high impact acrylic lens, is designed for “wet” locations and is fully gasketed, sealing out dust and bugs. As there are no rusting parts, the 4AG3-HL is also an excellent choice of lighting for wash stall areas.
